Foal

It is spring. The cool light of the morning sun streams through the door of the old log barn. It highlights the shaggy remnants of the mare's heavy winter coat. The little colt raises his head and will soon stand on wobbly legs. Morning chores are yet to be done. But they will wait, while everyone comes to inspect and admire the welcome new arrival.
