These little girls had been playing dress up — those accounts for their oversized petticoats — until they remembered their promise to water the neighbor’s garden. Now, swinging along their watering cans, slapping their bare feet against the warm pavement (socks and shoes forgotten but not missed), they’re happily on their way.
