Edge of Yesterday

This young man is Mel Johnston. Born and raised in Montana, Mel is a skilled craftsman who traps, does wildlife engraving and primarily tans buckskin for a living. As a young boy, he was taught by his grandfather the way of life he now enjoys. Mel, as a member of the National Association of Primitive Riflemen, attends rendezvous around the country, selling his tanned hides, engravings, tepees and lodges. Here stands a proud man who appreciates the land from which he makes his living but in his mind he stands on the edge of yesterday.
