"I really wanted to show speed as a glowing, powerful feeling, through bold color and bright light and I wanted to show a different side of wolves - a playful and fun side. They are racing each other, hence the blurred background. I purposely didn't show their feet. That would have anchored them to the ground.
"The idea came to me in the middle of the afternoon. I saw the painting in my head and was so excited by the idea that I went straight home to start working on it. It was like a memory; you don't remember the exact details so you play with it in your brain until it's the way you want it."
