“I enjoy painting animals to which people can relate,” says John Weiss. “They are a familiar part of our everyday life we understand and enjoy. While searching through reference materials, I came across an image of a friend’s Chocolate Labrador. They’re amazing little creatures during their puppy stage and I tried to capture that special time in their lives by going for a natural look that makes you feel you can reach out and pet the dog.” Weiss has accomplished just that in this warm and charming portrait.
