"Although a bit of a departure from what I usually paint, this kitten was so beautiful I just couldn't resist capturing it on canvas. Even though a kitten with a ball of yarn could tend to get 'cutesy,' what I have attempted to do is make a legitimate work of art using the subject matter. I chose the setting with the yarn and carpet because I wanted a very soft feeling to the painting."
