Ready For the Attack

"I like to get 'up close and personal' in my work, but it's better to do it in art than in reality. The mother cougar was tolerant of our presence in the summer. The next spring, though, when the cubs were of a pretty good size, she was not tolerant at all. In fact, she actually attacked some members of the filming crew. It was really frightening because she could have killed them in a few seconds. Thankfully we were able to get out of her way quickly with no major injuries.
