"Tom Laird, my prospector friend, took me to the Oscar Noble Ranch, which is located in Clark, Wyoming, about 40 miles from my place in Wapiti. Along with some other items, I obtained this 100-year-old saddle. I took it home and left it outside my house. After many months, the snow started falling - a gentle snow, the kind that sifts easily into every crack and corner. It was 7 in the morning when I took pictures of the saddle - and 20 degrees below zero. But the sun hadn't risen yet and the light was a soft as snow . . . perfect for the picture I wanted. It was a magical moment."
