A Sioux chieftain urges his painted pony into battle. His war bonnet is adorned with blue and ochre colored beads (which denotes his respect for the Great Spirit's sky above and the earth below) and his shield has been methodically painted with the warrior's "personal medicine." Man and horse move as one toward an uncertain destiny.
