The petroglyph on the rock comes from the upper Wind River area of Wyoming. It's right next to the mountains that overlook the lakes. No one knows what it means or what it's for exactly but it does face the lake. Most of the petroglyphs in that area face the lake.
These mountain men aren't looking at the petroglyph. They just don't show any interest. They are coming out of the mountains where they have been hunting and trapping all winter. They will trade for more powder and whiskey and have a wild old time - oblivious to their place in history.
