The Western American Indian is usually pictured on horseback, especially the warriors. But long before the horse, the Indians were superb runners and even with the horse, learned to run as well as ride.
This small band of Indian warriors has left their horses in a safe place and are approaching the enemy on foot so as not to alert them.
