"'Charlottesville' is my idea of the way the perfect New England town looks. The inspiration for it came from a motor trip through New England several years ago. All the classic elements of a New England town have been included in this painting from the village green to the church to the farmers. While there are many towns that could have been 'Charlottesville,' I took the best of each to create my own. And since the town is a pure fantasy, I decided to name it after myself."
