"I wanted to create a delicate blance between realism and design. I like to get a real feeling of drama into all my paintings-a sense of power and fullness. To create a successful image, you need everything to work; composition, content and color.
"Since I'm still defining my style, each image I paint is a new challenge. It's exciting to discover and explore something new. I start with a sketch and keep pushing it until it can't go any further. For instance, the horses - I kept working on them until I finally got something that looked powerful enough for me."
