The feeling of being very close to a wild animal is something I often experienced in the national parks. A friend gave me directions where to see Dall sheep. It was in Kluane National Park in the Yukon Territory. We had to climb very high to reach them, but it was worth it. We finally could come so close that they even touched our hands. In the parks the animals are very tame. This is because no hunting is allowed there. Humans are not enemies for them.
I decided to only make a portrait of one, because this was the way to capture that feeling of closeness to that wild, white beauty. I deliberately kept the background out of focus to keep all of the attention on the animal.
