APPLE PIE

"I like to have the design of my paintings work to communicate the emotion I want to convey. For instance, in 'Life's a Dance,' I wanted to create a subtle circle with the background items to reestablish the painting's theme. In 'Apple Pie,' I got a little more playful. Many of the details in the image illustrate the satisfactions of a simple life, but they also give clues about that evening's dessert."
