On the first Saturday in March of every year, something exciting and amazing happens in Alaska. It is the Iditarod, an annual dogsled event that takes men and women racers over eleven hundred tortuous miles through some of the most beautiful, most barren and coldest terrain imaginable.
"The title has a dual meaning," Kennedy reveals. "A dog musher is a breed apart from other people. It takes a hearty breed to go out and do this. In addition to the fifteen dogs in the team, there are two wolves in the trees. They are a breed apart as well."
