OF THE FINEST BREED: BLACK LABRADOR

Intelligence and good temperament have made the Labrador one of America's favorite dogs. The breed first became popular in the early 1800s in Newfoundland when the dogs accompanied fishermen in their boats and retrieved fish that fell from the over-laden nets. Today's Labrador retains keen reflexes and excellent sense of sight that made it a successful retriever.
