GOLD SEEKERS TO THE BLACK HILLS

Call For Price

Details

"In 1874, General George Armstrong Custer led an unapproved expedition into the Black Hills of what is South Dakota today. It resulted in a gold rush to the sacred hunting grounds of the Sioux. Because of this historical injustice, I wanted to emphasize the Sioux. The real story of this image is that they are being invaded. I used the warm late day light to bring out the area's rich colors and textures."
