Wednesday Night Checkers

Lightning rends the blackened sky. A chill wind tears leaves from the trees and an owl swoops overhead, hooting ominously. From a window in the windmill a blaze of light pierces the darkness, beckoning a lone figure clad in a trenchcoat. What is this visitor's intent? Alas, nothing more sinister than a weekly game of checkers brings this foul-weather friend.
