Hickoryhaven Canal

This is in upper Michigan in an area called Houghton Lake. Behind the cabin on the lake is a small canal which has frozen over - to the delight of the locals. Skating on the canal became a party from early morning until nightfall. People sang, played instruments, built fires, sold goodies and were obviously having a good time. It was a warm and pleasant sight.
