Blackbirds do not come into view often but when they do, it is a special treat. They seem to be just as raucous as the Blue Jays that literally take over the feed bins. Blackbirds are a cocky, tough and resilient bird always trying to ace out the other birds during feeding. That stark black shape is marvelous and the coat of feathers produces some beautiful highlights of blue, green and purple in the sunlight. Mr. Blackbird cuts a striking figure in his tuxedo, don't you think?
