"As in many of my paintings, here I wanted a romantic, lyrical feeling with emotion and energy. Anyone who has seen my prints 'Intimacy' and 'Dance of the Wind and the Storm' knows I enjoy equating nature with the human spirit. In 'Golden Breeze,' I sought to create several levels of beauty, both figuratively and literally.
"In addition to classic images of beauty, such as the butterflies and flowers, I wanted to create an air of mystery around the woman through her expression and her blond hair - which may, or may not be, the golden breeze to which the title refers.
"Ultimately, 'Golden Breeze,' like 'Dance of the Wind and Storm' before it, shows that we are part of nature and nature, too, is a part of us."
