Early in my career, after I got married, most of my art was about family. Because I'm a figurative artist, it was natural that I'd draw strength from that strong family connections. The power that I got from painting children was tremendous because that's what I was going through as a father. For an artist like myself, who conveys powerful emotion, there was no greater gift than being able to paint the unconditional love I experienced when my children were born."
