REMEMBER A SWING

Remember a spring day when you were small? Remember racing across the lawn to a silent friend who was always there and waiting just for you? Remember a swing? Watch this little towhead arc through the picture. Take her place in the swing and feel the rush of wind as you fall backwards through the air, skirting the ground and soaring up until you are face to face with the earth. Hold for a breathless beat and then fly forward, up, up, up, leading with your toes, tilting your head back until all you see is blue. Hold again for that instant when sky and wind stop, before the grip of the earth pulls you back and forth and back and forth and you remember the freedom of a swing!
