BASKET CASES

"I was born in the Netherlands and I've spent a good part of my life there. English is not my first language, so perhaps I find more delights in it than a person who was raised with it would. Theat's one of the reasons I enjoy doing plays on words with my titles. "The image of 'Basket Cases' is a play on the title. These cats, captivated by the movement of a tiny spider, are oblivious to the gourmet meal just below, in the form of brightly colored parakeets. Cats are mesmerized by anything that moves. Which one do you think will make the first move . . . and in which direction?"
