“When I do interviews I am often asked what my goals are,” said artist Steve Hanks. "My answer is always
the same: ‘The journey is the goal.’ I liked the idea of a painting with that title so one summer I asked my
children to model for it.” Often the most powerful and enjoyable works of art are the ones that are honest
and universal. Whether it’s the celebration of life (or life’s passing) in the streets of New Orleans, or the
contemplation of life’s next steps, Steve Hanks’ paintings offer everlasting emotional and visual interest.
