Painting Apollo: First Artist on Another World
by Alan Bean
Artist and Apollo Astronaut Alan Bean will be the subject of a one-man show featuring forty of Bean’s original drawings and paintings at Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum from July 16, 2009 until January 13, 2010. It will be the largest exhibition of Bean’s work to date. Smithsonian Books will publish a companion book Painting Apollo: First Artist on Another World, to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing in July. The Greenwich Workshop has reserved a limited number of copies for our collectors. Contact your Authorized Dealer to pre-order.
Alan Bean and his astroartistry recreate the drama and excitement of man’s exploration of the moon as could only be chronicled

SmallWorks™ North America Award Winners
Congratulations to these award winners from the 2008 Greenwich Workshop SmallWorks™ North America Exhibition and Sale. Miniature
art is an important part of any collection and SmallWorks may be your way to begin. Such works are often a collector’s first purchase because they are more affordable. A single small jewel of art can be that final, elegant touch in fine décor. On the other hand, a wall arranged with framed miniatures like this year’s winners
will make for an impressive display of a collector’s unique style and range of interests.

A Parliament of Owls
by Scott Gustafson
SmallWorks™ North America Publisher's Award Winner
Artist Scott Gustafson has of late been inspired by aphorisms and the turn of a phrase including most recently the Fine Art Limited Editions Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil and Birds of a Feather Flock Together. Birds have the type of unique collective nouns that send Gustafson into inspired flights of fancy. A peep of chickens, a band of jays, a conspiracy of ravens, a murder of crows and yes, a parliament of owls! This Great Horned orator speaks with commanding authority and while the front row struggles to stay awake, most of the others are rapt listeners.
